As I sure most of you are fully aware of the events taking place in Madison, WI I don't think this video requires additional explanation. Very well done.

Cut Copy - Zonoscope
Blink and you'll miss a revolution
The kings of indie dance music are back. Cut Copy, whose 2008 release In Ghost Colours set the indie world on fire, return with Zonoscope, a polished and excellent album. The band has refined their style and changed their sound a bit, creating some truly amazing tracks that showcase their versatility. On average, I'd say this album is a beat or two slower than In Ghost Colours, making is slightly less danceable. But these tracks are guaranteed to get your head bobbing and a few of them are sure to be show-stoppers live. Here's a taste:
Take Me Over by cutcopymusic
Buy Zonoscope here. The boys are on tour and will be playing The Riv in Chicago on April 8. If that concert is anything like the show I saw last year late night at the Metro, it should be an incredible time. Buy some tickets and I'll see you there. Spring concert season is upon us!
BONUS: Here's a mixtape Cut Copy released this week. It's an unusual blend of vintage live tracks, dance beats, and electro. Spectacular music to work to.

Take - Begin End Begin
Time for some Chi-town ad community love. This video for artist Take was directed by former coworker Anthony Ciannamea, co-directed by another former coworker Ryan Sievert, and stars a third, David Cuesta.
The song is just ok. Total electronica - very glitchy, and takes a while to get going. But major kudos are due to those dudes on a smooth lookin video.
In joy.

Panda Bear
Panda Bear is set to release some new tunes on us April 12th. He did a series of singles late last year with some early mixes of some new tunes. Here are a couple that I'm looking forward to:

Zoo Kid
16 year old UK guitarist/songwriter Zoo Kid and his song Out Getting Ribs. One of the YouTube comments puts it best, "Uk gets him and we got screwed with beiber wtf."
16? Jesus.

James Blake
Been tracking James Blake for a while now, with a few small dubsteb tracks and remixes leaking over the US from the UK last year. He's got a sound I'm not sure how to really describe on this album - he started as more of a dubstep guy but with a post-1999-Radiohead-twist (see the last video below). Recently he put out the CMYK EP, and shortly after we got the Feist do-over of "Limit to Your Love" (I prefer the latter better than the original). Just released now, finally, is his full length, which after a couple of listens is everything I hoped it'd be. It's a little less dubstep-ish, but still heavy on deep bass and trancey rhythms, with his own spooky and swooning voice added to the picture. Enjoy a few tracks below, and grab the album!
Some older dubsteb-ish type Blake:

Iron & Wine - Kiss Each Other Clean
The continuing evolution of one of our generation's greatest singer/songwriters
Kiss Each Other Clean is the first new release in four years from Iron & Wine, aka Sam Beam. Best known for the dreamy lo-fi masterpieces that defined his early career, Beam has taken advantage of his popularity and immense ability by crafting two full-blown studio epics, The Sheperd's Dog and Kiss Each Other Clean. The latter is even bigger than the former. I never thought I'd hear a saxophone solo on an Iron & Wine album, but there it is. The song writing remains second to none, and Beam is still not afraid to drop the occasional curse word, which I respect. Check out some tracks below. When the credits roll in the movie I'll never make, Walking Far From Home will be playing.
Iron & Wine - Walking Far From Home
Iron & Wine - Tree By The River
Buy it here.
Here's some classic live Iron & Wine for you too:
Sorry for being a day late. Happy Saturday.

Fang Island
One of my good college buddies turned me on to these guys. I don't really know how to describe them because they're all over the place. Yamo would probably think the first song to be very Ozma-ish. Two of my favorites:
Daisy:
Davy Crockett (I don't know why its set to NBA Dunk footage, but it only adds to its awesomeness):

Glasser
Sorry for the long delay TSAD. It seriously won't happen again.
My new winter musical obsession has been Glasser. She's so underground she doesn't even have a wikipedia page and as a result I know next to nothing about her other than her music rocks (and her mom was in a band called Human Sexual Response, which might need its own post after discovering them).
The best way to describe her would be a mix of Bat for Lashes and Bjork. Enjoy one of my favorite tracks and let me know what you think:
